The EarthPicks of Cochise County

The EarthPicks, a Western-Folk-Blues duo, features Liz Lopez on vocals and bass guitar, and Jeff Sturges on vocals, guitar, and harmonica. Together they create a multi-dimensional range of musical harmony with a repertoire of original, traditional, and contemporary songs. They have entertained audiences in Arizona, California, New Mexico, Oregon, and Utah at cafes, clubs, festivals, and private gatherings centered on art, literature, and the environment. Jeff and Liz combine their love of learning, music, and folklore to research historical events and related personages. Their songwriting conveys tales of the people, history, and natural wonders of the great Southwest.

Liz is an Arts Specialist–music, art, and drama–for grades K-12. Jeff is Faculty Emeritus from Cochise College, where he taught English composition and literature. Patrice Webb

LOCATION: Escalante Town Park – Festival Stage

Patrice Webb is a singer songwriter from Sandpoint, Idaho where she lives on a rambling 23 acre homestead with her husband and a band of 4-legged critters.  Her songs are drawn from the folk era of the 60s, as well as from country swing and blues of days gone by.  She has won awards for her vibrant songwriting from the New England Songwriting Contest, The Walnut Valley New Song Contest as well as the Indie International Song Contest and the Great American Song contest.  Patrice is also a two-time finalist in the Tumbleweed Music Festival’s “Jane Titland Songwriting Contest”.  She has released 3 CDs all of which have been receiving international airplay.

Salt Gulch All Stars

LOCATION: Escalante Town Park – Festival Stage

A buncha friends goofin’ off and havin’ fun!! They were on the Ed Sullivan Show July 1972, opened for the Stones in the 80’s, played Montreuax jazz festival ’96, were Dylan’s back-up band 2002-2004. The band broke up in 2010 and have decided to reunite for the Escalante Canyons Arts Festival.



Amber Shae

LOCATION: Escalante Town Park – Festival Stage

Amber Shae is a 20 year old singer/songwriter based in Utah. Her first original song on Spotify “Just A Dream” with producer Ryan Nevis got over half a million streams. She has a unique voice like you’ve never heard and lyrics that are authentic and down to earth.

Julia Cozby

LOCATION: Escalante Town Park – Festival Stage

Julia Cozby has been performing as an acoustic artist since 2012. A serious student of music and life-long singer, Julia’s blend of Country Blues Americana Standards and Pop music elements are clearly heard in her original compositions. She currently lives in New Mexico and counts the state and its people as a huge influence on her songwriting. Her first full-length album of all original songs Keep on Walking was released on Montrose Records in late 2019. The album has met with critical acclaim and was nominated for a New Mexico Music Award for Best Country CD in 2020. Julia has performed at many festivals including: Roswell UFO Festival, Cottonwood Festival, Hot Springs Festival, T or C Fiesta!, Tularosa Wine Festival, White Sands Full Moon Concert Series, and more.  Julia was also a permitted outfitter for GSENM and Glen Canyon NRA from 2001-2006 and is well-known among Escalante locals.

The Fab Folk

LOCATION: Escalante Town Park – Festival Stage

The Fab Folk are the husband-wife duo of Jake and Melissa Haws, who play a mix of classics like The Beatles and Johnny Cash, as well as contemporary artists like The Lumineers, Jason Mraz, Ed Sheeran, Imagine Dragons, and more. In addition to their tight vocal harmonies, they perform with an acoustic guitar, mandolin, kick drum, cajon, percussion, and incorporate a loop pedal on many songs.

Matt Burke

LOCATION: Escalante Town Park – Festival Stage

Matt Burke is an Americana artist from Nashville, TN. Burke moved to Nashville in the latter half of 2019 and quickly began making a name for himself as a songwriter and performer. Since the fall of 2020, Burke has been releasing a steady stream of quality new material that has drawn comparisons to Jason Isbell, Sturgill Simpson, and Zac Brown. A versatile artist, each single Burke releases touches on a different aspect of the Americana genre – from 1970’s honky-tonk line-dance anthems to heartbreaking bar stool laments and Top 40, country-rock singles ready for the hot 100, Burke showcases the many faces of his musical personality while continuing to carve his unique niche in the Nashville Music scene.
