Carol Benally: Monsoon Clouds

Monsoon clouds come in many shapes and sizes. I will bring some pictures for you to look at while You paint along with me. Beginning with cloud shapes in perspective using oil paint, we will create a composition of clouds. First with vine charcoal and then with paint. Then we will be painting using various colors and techniques. I will mix paints while you follow along. As I paint, I will stop so I can work with you on your understanding and techniques.
Supplies needed: Oil panel 9X12 panel canvas, titanium white, cadmium yellow light, alizarin crimson, ultramarine blue, cerulean blue, hog brushes 2, 6 flats
Carol holds a B.F.A. from Massachusetts College of Art in Painting and Education. She has taught art in Massachusetts and then moving to the Navajo Reservation has taught for over 35 years. She has had many awards from New Mexico Plein Air Association and collectors from all over the country. She has her work in galleries in Sedona, Jerome and Flagstaff.
