Plein Air Painting Competition

September 21 - September 26

The Plein Air Painting Competition allows artists six full days to paint.  Canvas stamping occurs at the Escalante Community Center and begins Friday, September 21.  Final painting entries must be submitted on Wednesday, September 26 between 11 AM and 6 PM at the Escalante Community Center. Rules and guidelines for competing in the Escalante Canyons Plein Air Competition are detailed here: Rules and Guidelines.  All registered artists must agree to these to participate in the competition. Nocturne Competition

Bonnie Griffith: Pastel Painting Landscapes

Celebrate Scenic Byway 12 Paint Out

$875 in prizes Stamp-in: 7 AM to NOON / Submission: 2 PM to 5 PM "Celebrate Scenic Byway 12" is the theme for the 2018 Paint-Out. Artists will paint along Scenic Byway 12.  Proceeds will be donated to the Scenic Byway 12 Foundation to support their programming and initiatives.

An event every day that begins at 10:00am, repeating until September 28, 2018

The Plein Air Exhibit is the highlight of the festival and showcases all art submitted for the Plein Air Competitions.  The show typically includes more than 100 entries in oil, pastel, watercolor, and other mixed media that have been produced during the days leading up to the show by registered artists of all levels of experience.   It also includes the works submitted for the Paint-Out events earlier in the week.  The exhibit is a great venue for purchasing art and seeing how…

Women of Plein Air Panel Discussion

Plein Air Award Ceremony and Reception
