Plein Air Painting Competition

September 21 - September 26

The Plein Air Painting Competition allows artists six full days to paint.  Canvas stamping occurs at the Escalante Community Center and begins Friday, September 21.  See below for dates and times. Final painting entries must be submitted on Wednesday, September 26 between 11 AM and 6 PM at the Escalante Community Center. "The Tale of Two Towns",  a watercolor exhibit by Escalante artist Harriet Priska, is on display through October 27th at Anasazi State Park Museum.  Harriet, owner of Serenidad Gallery, has studied the local history and represented the early pioneer days showing the relationship between Boulder and Escalante as they were settled in the last part of the 19th century.  Using historic photos and viewing existing structures she graphically portrays some of the then most remote parts of the United States .  Stop by to view the…
