Cynthia Rosen: The Expressive Landscape
September 28 @ 12:30 pm - 2:30 pm
Cynthia will talk about how she chooses a site, demonstrate decisions regarding the dynamics of composition and color choices. Cynthia primarily uses the palette knife to create rich moving images – she will discuss stroke direction and how it helps to direct the viewer’s eye and create movement within the image.
Living in Vermont and with a background in non-objective art, it is totally understandable that Cynthia Rosen paints “plein air with a twist”.
Given her interest in the ephemeral nature of life and “it’s constant state of flux” her paintings reflect the dynamics of the composition and the movement of color. The energy created in her work has garnered her numerous awards, inclusion in several prestigious exhibits, invites into galleries, and features in online and hard copy magazines (most recently Plein Air Magazine’s Feb/March issue, and American Art Collector’s March issue).
Cynthia travels about the country in order to broaden her horizons and challenge herself.
